Hometruths Melbourne exists to explore our collective obsession with property: with owning it, selling it, with those who sell it on our behalves, on the politics of ownership and the meaning of permanence.

Hometruths Melbourne offers thoughtful and unique insights into the city’s auctions, agencies, would-be buyers, vendors with unique homes and stories to match, and the creatives who make our homes more beautiful and meaningful.

Hometruths Melbourne is headed up by Ruby Assembly‘s Iolanthe Gabrie – you can find her award-winning arts and culture blog here.

We welcome editorial contribution by agents, buyers and vendors and sponsorship by brands that make sense for our audience.

  1. I bought my second stand alone property in the heart of Fitzroy within five minute of seeing it! Loved it. My thoughts were if it stood for the last 100 years+ it’ll stand for another 100+ years especially with the care that’s been put into it!

Fitzroy reminds me of Notting Hill in London. Love it love it. It’s so down to Earth, beautiful rustic charm, very artistic!
I have been living in the inner city of Melbourne suburbs for more than 15 years now. It’s pretty much all of my adult life. Carlton, South Melbourne, St Kilda, South Yarra, Kensington, Albert Park, Richmond. I have two properties within these areas. My ultimate aim is to have a property near the beach. I am scorpion! I love the water. I think having a property that is stand alone and within these suburbs, you just can’t go wrong. All of which are great capital growth areas!
I love your work by the way. We should talk. I am to start a new channel on all things finance. I just followed you on twitter.
